Flooding Causing Issues For Parts of Northeastern NC & Southeastern VA

A subtropical low has been in place over North Carolina for much of the week and it is now causing issues with flooding of roads and school closures in some parts of North Carolina and Virginia.  Looking at the precipitation observations some areas have received as much as 13 inches of rain in the past 7 days and some areas today continue to be pounded with rain today.  Areas of Eastern NC and VA can expect some more rain accumulations today and tomorrow before this system finally moves out of the area.  We expect areas to see another possibly 2-4 inches depending on your location.  Flood warnings have also been issued for around 10 counties in the area.  Below is the NWS analysis of the flooding situation in these areas.
