Tropical Depression Two is now off the coast of the Carolina’s and Georgia. The winds are currently at 35 mph and they are expected to increase to near 45-50 mph before affecting the coast of North and South Carolina. This storm is expected to be upgraded to a Tropical Storm later today and Tropical Storm warnings have been issued the coast of South Carolina. The main threats associated with this system will be heavy rainfall and localized flooding as some areas could see as much as 4-6 inches of rain over the weekend. Also the threat for rip currents will be present at many of the southeastern beaches this weekend. The track of the storm is expected to impact South Carolina beginning Saturday and could bring rain to the Carolina’s, Virginia and Georgia into early next week. The wind is not expected to be an issue, though you can expect some breezy conditions throughout the weekend.
