This year has been an unusually quiet year for the Atlantic Tropics in a year of strong El Nino. That could all change this week with the formation of Tropical Storm Danny, which could possibly be a hurricane briefly later this week before running into some strong wind shear and dry air. The NHC is currently giving this a 90% chance of developing over the course of the next 5 days though we believe it could be a named storm likely today or tomorrow. As of now we do not believe this will be any threat to the United States Coast as this storm will likely run into problems later on down the road before it has the chance to make an appearance of US soil. It looks like there could also be a few more tropical waves rolling off the African coast over the next couple of weeks and we will monitor these and keep you updated. We will post more updates as needed and if anything changes with this system over the coming days.
