We have been watching over a couple of the models over the past couple of days and following the possibility for some major snowfall for much of the east coast including North Carolina. This could be the first system this winter to bring a decent amount of measurable snowfall to many regions of North Carolina. Currently there are multiple models setting the stage for snow late this week and into the weekend. The setup will be a low pressure system pushing across the Carolina’s from texas and bringing with it colder air, which if everything comes into place could bring a major snow event to North Carolina. It is a little to early to start predicting how this system will affect North Carolina and we will continue to monitor this system for the next day or so before we put out a forecast with predicted snow totals and exact dates on this system. We typically like to see confidence with multiple models and model runs before putting out a full forecast but as of right now we think that snow is a very good possibility for late this week and this coming weekend.
