Tropical Development Possible off the Southeastern US This Weekend

There is a possibility of some tropical development over the course of the next few days leading up to memorial day.  The development according to multiple models would be off the South Carolina and North Carolina coastline.  This would still be almost a week away and even if this system does develop the only threats associated with this system would be some heavy rain and some rip currents.  We do not currently expect this system to develop into anything more than this.  We will provide updates in the coming days, so if you have plans to go to the beach don’t change your plans just yet.  If this system does develop into more than a cluster of storms the likely timeline for rain coming on shore would be Sunday into Monday.  Be sure to follow us on Facebook and use the free Atlantic Hurricane Tracker to get the most recent information on this system and future systems.  This is available through our website as well as on Apple and Android devices as a download in the app store.  Thanks for making us your #1 source for severe weather.
