Tornadoes ripped through Kansas and the Central Plains yesterday bringing damage and injuries throughout the area. The NWS is evaluating the strength of the tornadoes that touched down yesterday, but near Dodge City there was a large tornado the injured 2 people and a “Tornado Emergency” was issued near the area. The tornadoes damaged severe houses and businesses in the Central Plains yesterday and preliminary reports of the tornado near Dodge City was a half mile wide tornado. Along with the damage from tornadoes there were reports of 3 inch hail as well. The severe weather is expected to continue this week with a continued threat for large hail, damaging winds and some tornadoes.
