Some areas of North Carolina could see snow over the weekend. We have been monitoring the possibility of snow for the past week and models continue to show the possibility of some snow in the forecast for the mountains, piedmont and northern portions of North Carolina on Sunday afternoon and night. We aren’t sure on the exact amounts yet or if it will just be flurries, but the farther you are north and west will significantly increase your chances of seeing some snow on Sunday. We will be posting updates on this system a couple times a day and within the next 24-48 hours we should have a much better bearing on how much snow areas of North Carolina will actually see or if it will all be rain or a mix. If you would like to stay up to date on the most recent developments on this system be sure to like us on Facebook. Also be sure to download our free Snowfall Forecast app on Android or Apple. We will post another update tonight at 11 p.m. and then again at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning with any new developments. We will possibly be able to post some more information tomorrow morning once we see a little more certainty with the various models we use including the GFS, CMC, NCEP SREF, & Euro.
