Yes you read the headline right. We are looking at the possibility of snow this weekend as we move into the middle part of March. There are a few systems that could blanket snow from the New England states, Ohio Valley and even down into Tennessee and the Carolina’s. The jet stream will be dipping south bringing colder weather to the east coast and to the southeastern states as we move into the weekend. It is still a little to early to get into specifics on the snowfall totals for this system as the ground is quite warm so it would take some time for snow to begin sticking in parts of the south. The Ohio valley and New England states can expect snow Thursday and Friday, while parts of the south can look for some snow and winter precipitation Saturday into Sunday. This will overall be a moderate winter event with some slight impacts on travel depending on your exact area. Following this winter storm we will have another system coming in right behind it during the early part of next week. This system will mainly affect the Great Lakes and the Northeastern US. We will be providing updates on snowfall totals and what you can expect in the coming days so be sure to check back often.
