This week has been a bad week for severe weather so far with reports of tornadoes, damaging winds and severe hail. That threat continues today for North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, though the threat levels are lower than yesterday. The threat level today is a “slight threat” which means the storms could be severe at times with damaging winds and hail with a chance for a tornado or two. The threat today pretty much covers the entire states of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The storms will likely begin to fire up in the mid to late afternoon though they will not be as widespread as those across the region yesterday. The maps below show the threats and percentages.
