Severe weather will be possible this afternoon and evening for the Carolina’s, Virginia Georgia & Florida. The main threats today will be damaging winds and hail. The possibility of an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out, but the tornado threat for this afternoon will be low. The main areas that will see severe weather will be areas of Central & Eastern North & South Carolina as well as Southern Georgia and the panhandle of Florida. The storms will begin firing up around early to mid afternoon and will likely last into the evening similar to the storms yesterday. The main tornado threat will be southeastern North Carolina and Eastern South Carolina though the threat is only 2%. The threat of damaging winds and hail will extend from Virginia down into Florida. The overall threat level today from the NWS is “Slight”, which means that the threat will be slightly above normal.
