The National Hurricane Center is currently watching a system off the North Carolina cost and has given it a 40% chance of developing into a tropical system within the next 24 hours. We have looked over the models and believe that the system could develop into a weak tropical depression ( less than 40 mph winds ) leaving the impact on the Carolina’s being some possible wind, rain and rip currents with rip currents really being the main threat as most of this should remain off shore and be short lived. Most of the rain should occur today and tonight with a remaining rip current threat today, tomorrow and Thursday. Once again this will not develop into a major tropical system or hurricane, but we wanted to make you weather aware incase you are at the beach this week. Be proactive and swim near life guards and obey any signs posted on the beach.
