LEONID METEOR SHOWER PEAKS TONIGHT NOV 17TH

The Leonid Meteor Shower will peak tonight Tuesday Nov. 17th.  The best time to view these will actually be from midnight to dawn though some could be visible earlier in the evening.  This system has been known to produce up to 3,000 meteors per hour though this years show will produce around 15-20 per hour.  In order to locate the best area for viewing you will need a clear view of the southeastern sky and the Leo constellation, which is the area that these seem to originate from.  Be sure to go out tonight and see if you can capture a photo of the meteor shower.

Where to look? Southeastern sky about 40 degrees up.

What time to look? The best time to view the show will be from midnight Tuesday to dawn Wednesday.

How to get a photo? Set your DSLR to manual mode.  Use manual focus and focus to infinity.  Be sure to use a lens with a low F rating and zoom all the way out.  Set your camera on a tripod with a 20-30 second shutter speed and use an iso between 800-1600.  This will be a sure way to be great shots of the meteor shower.
