COASTAL EROSION IN NORTH CAROLINA’S OUTER BANKS OVER THE WEEKEND

The storm that has been impacting North Carolina since last Thursday has been causing major erosion problems on the Outer Banks of North Carolina as well as some coastal flooding in the region as well.  Since last Thursday some areas have received as much as 6-8 inches of rain along with 4 foot seas along the Outer Banks causing come major beach erosion and flooding issues.  With another tropical system off the coast it is looking like the situation could continue through at least Friday with waves remaining in the 3-4 foot range and with more rain to continue falling throughout the week though the rain will not likely be as widespread as it was throughout the weekend in the Carolina’s.
